Hello guys, just a quick question.

What book, story or game(if any) would you like to see made into a movie?

I have a couple in mind, mainly video games though but here goes.

1). Half Life - This game has such an epic story, it really needs to be made into a movie. You've got all the ingredients to make a box office smash! It's got an enormous fanbase, the story is epic(as already mentioned), the characters are viable in the movie and let's be honest here. There hasn't been a decent Extraterrestrial movie since Alien.

2). Gears of War - Yeah ok, it would probably end up as some movie filled with Wrestlers and Bullshark Testosterone, but it would not be hard to make an entertaining movie about huge steroid freaks with big guns and lots of blood.

3). Red Faction - Ok, so they made some crappy B-movie back in 2011 called Red Faction Origins, set between RF:Guerrilla and RF:Armageddon, but it was woeful at best and the only "known" actor in it Robert Patrick(Terminator 2, The Sopranos). It has a story which is fairly common with in planet colonisation and was inspired by Total Recall but has its own unique side to it.

4). Bioshock - Hailed as arguably the best game ever released on PC, it has a monumental story that would require a trilogy to fit it all in mind. I would imagine it would be taken on by someone like James Cameron, it just seems like his kind of movie, which is very worrying.

5). Warhammer 40,000 - I don't think I even need to say this, but this game makes the Lord of the Rings story look small with little depth. The potential with this movie is limitless, given the amount of factions/races and the enormous history(40,000 years worth!) and the insane depth the Lore of each character has.

Some honorable mentions: Far Cry, Mass Effect, Serious Sam(yeah this would just be a fun movie with epic amounts of cheese), Dead Space and Lost Planet.

Are they really? That's awesome!

I only hope they can keep Peter Jackson away from them.

Do you perhaps have any links with information about what the story will be? Just going on a whim here, but I'd imagine if it's Warhammer 40,000 they're doing, it will be something along the lines of "The Horus Heresy" which is talked about a lot in the video games.

But the interest generated has led to another official one being plotted, though I can't find the piece on it that I saw that had my mouth watering. It was space marines, and live action, as they were talking about how they would make them appear much larger than normal humans.}

That's awesome! Let's just hope it's a story that involves Chaos(my favourite race) as the main enemy and not the Orks.

I also hope they stay true to the names of the key characters, such as Eliphas, Davian Thule, Araghast and Jonah Aria.

I also hope it's not done based on something that's already been played out in one of the games. I'd much rather see it be a movie that is based off of one of the events that's only talked about in games, such as the Horus Heresy, the Battle of Terra, the Battle for Monthax or Siege of The Emperor's Palace even, that would be epic!

{Ed001's Note - I love the Orks, though Chaos is the most interesting of all. I seem to remember talk of a Horus Heresy film series based on the books, but I think that must have been just people wishing for one, as I can't see how it would be possible to do the series.}

Personally, I think a TV show might be a better way to do it. I quickly google'd the Horus Heresy and I came across this.

It's HUGE! And got so many major events happening in it.

No I haven't read the books, I've always been a fan of the video games though, so perhaps I should read them.

{Ed001's Note - I highly recommend them mate. I admit to being hooked on them.}
